PROVISIONAL evidence grade of this record

Chicago Black-owned insurer (1925–1985), subject of Weems's book-length study. Documented case of 'one-way economic desegregation': white firms entered the Black market post-integration, poached Black agents and middle-class customers, and Black insurers — unable to expand their client base — declined nationally from 50 (1962) to 23 (1992).
