We collect as little as possible, and we never sell what we collect.

What we collect

  • Donations. Online gifts are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your payment details; we receive your name, email address, gift amount, and date — enough to thank you and issue the IRS acknowledgment for gifts of $250 or more.
  • Newsletter. Subscribing hands your email address to Substack, which sends the CultureTechLens newsletter. Unsubscribe any time with the link in any issue.
  • Site analytics. We use Google Analytics to see aggregate traffic (which pages are read, where readers arrive from). We do not build individual profiles.
  • Email you send us. Messages to [email protected] are read by our team and kept as correspondence.

What we never do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
  • We share data only with the processors named above, to operate the site and the newsletter.
  • We do not publish donors’ names without permission.

Your choices

Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it removed. Newsletter removal is instant via any issue’s unsubscribe link.

The archive in pictures

Trust & evidence

Evidence before authority. CultureTechLens publishes its methods, its limits, and its corrections alongside its findings. Claims carry grades — VERIFIED, SUPPORTED, PROVISIONAL, DISPUTED, UNRESOLVED — and unknowns are never reported as zero.

Every claim graded. Every source named. Every correction public — see the corrections log.
