PROVISIONAL evidence grade of this record

Predominantly Black Episcopal parish at 6105 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago (Washington Park). Began 1905 as the Washington Park Mission; admitted as a parish with charter filed October 12, 1940. One of Chicago's oldest active Black Episcopalian congregations; its archives (1930-2002) are held in the CPL Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection.
