Multiracial, anti-racist, working-class coalition formed in Chicago on April 4, 1969, uniting the largely Puerto Rican Young Lords of Lincoln Park, the Illinois Black Panther Party of the South and West Sides, and the Young Patriots of Uptown. Co-led by José "Cha Cha" Jiménez, Fred Hampton, and William "Preacherman" Fesperman; cooperated on survival programs and solidarity actions against poverty, displacement, and police brutality.
