VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Riverbank site near Glendora, Mississippi, believed to be where Emmett Till's body was recovered from the Tallahatchie River on August 31, 1955. A memorial sign erected in 2008 was repeatedly vandalized; a one-inch-thick bulletproof sign was dedicated in October 2019. Unit of the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument (established 2023).
