VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

KaZoom Kids Books is a Chicago digital-first children's publisher based in Hyde Park, founded by Donna Beasley in 2016 to create greater diversity in children's literature. Its KaZoom Kids iStoryBooks app offers interactive, read-along multicultural picture books for ages 3 to 8 — animation, narration, and stories touching subjects from Black hair to single parenting — on Apple and Android, on a subscription model priced at $75 per year in its launch-era interviews. The company launched with eight titles and a plan of thirty multicultural books in its first year, and it recruits multicultural authors and artists into children's publishing. Coverage includes the Los Angeles Sentinel, Black News, VoyageChicago, and the Support is Sexy podcast.
