Dee Brown, born DeCovan Kadell Brown on November 29, 1968, in Jacksonville, Florida, is an American former professional basketball player and coach. A guard from Jacksonville University — where his No. 4 jersey was later retired — he was selected 19th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 1990 NBA draft. As a rookie he won the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest with his famous no-look dunk, performed after pumping up his Reebok shoes, and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Brown played twelve NBA seasons — Boston (1990–1998), Toronto (1998–2000), and Orlando (2000–2002) — totaling 6,758 points, 2,227 assists, and 1,569 rebounds. He moved directly into coaching as head coach of the WNBA's Orlando Miracle (2002) and San Antonio Silver Stars (2004), then coached the Springfield Armor of the NBA Development League and served as an NBA assistant coach with the Detroit Pistons (2011–2013) and Sacramento Kings (2013–2015). His daughter Lexie Brown plays in the WNBA. This record documents the basketball player born in 1968; a younger guard of the same name (born 1984, Illinois) is a different person.

Staged 2026-10-16 under CTL-GOV-006 (Fill 500 Lists Wave 3, Tier 1 — 747 Program). Gate A (2026-10-16): no Dee Brown entity in the live graph at 3,346 entities (exact/normalized/alias + token containment); ID CTL-E-5661 free. Supply: 747 Supply Ledger, Fill 500 Comedians gap #10. Vital status: LIVING — verified by his continuing coaching and player-development career (including a Los Angeles Clippers player-performance role) and his daughter's active WNBA career coverage; no death report in any source consulted. Conflicts shown, not blended: Identification is the packet's documented call: two professional guards named Dee Brown exist (this record's subject, born 1968, Jacksonville/Celtics; and a guard born 1984 who played at Illinois), and one low-weight source in this pass's returns conflates their biographies. The founder list's sports cluster (this name sits among NBA players) and the 1968 player's national profile support this identification; the record's first paragraph disambiguates explicitly, and the 1984 player is not staged. STATISTICS (sourced, dated): Career NBA totals: 6,758 points (11.1 per game), 2,227 assists (3.7), 1,569 rebounds (2.6) — Wikipedia career statistics (NBA.com / Basketball-Reference), accessed 2026-10-16. 1991: Slam Dunk Contest champion and All-Rookie First Team in the same rookie season — Wikipedia; ESPN.
