Ecco2k, born Zak Arogundade on 23 October 1994 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish singer, rapper, producer, and designer of Nigerian and Swedish heritage, and a co-founder of the Stockholm collective Drain Gang. His father is a British graphic designer, writer, and architect of Nigerian heritage; his mother is a Swedish makeup artist. He started a fashion label, Alaska, at sixteen and later worked with the sneaker brand Eytys before music took over: in 2013 he co-founded the collective — first as Gravity Boys Shield Gang — with Bladee, Whitearmor, and Yung Sherman. His solo debut album E (2019) carried his name beyond the collective, followed by the EP PXE (2021) and Crest (2022), a collaborative album with Bladee. His songs take up his position directly: the experience of being a Black man in Sweden, an insider raised there and an outsider read at a glance.
