Tito Jackson, born 15 October 1953 in Gary, Indiana, was an American musician, singer and songwriter, a founding member of the Jackson 5 and the group's guitarist and background vocalist. One of the Jackson family's children raised in Gary, he formed the group with his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael; signed to Motown in 1969, the Jackson 5 became the first group whose first four singles — "I Want You Back," "ABC," "The Love You Save" and "I'll Be There" — all reached No. 1. After the group left Motown it continued as the Jacksons on Epic Records, and Tito remained one of its most consistent members across its full history. The Jackson 5 were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Tito began a solo career as a blues musician in 2003 and released the solo albums Tito Time (2016) and Under Your Spell (2021). He was still performing with Jackie and Marlon as the Jacksons in the summer of 2024. He died on 15 September 2024 in Gallup, New Mexico, at age 70.
