Adrien Broner (born Adrien Jerome Broner on 28 July 1989 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American professional boxer who won world championships in four weight divisions, from super featherweight to welterweight, during a rise that once made him one of the sport's most visible young champions. He took his first world title at super featherweight in November 2011, added the WBC lightweight title by stopping Antonio DeMarco in November 2012, and won a welterweight title from Paulie Malignaggi by split decision in 2013. His first defeat came against Marcos Maidana in December 2013, and later losses to Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia, Manny Pacquiao and Blair Cobbs marked a long decline from his early peak. He returned in June 2023 to outpoint William Hutchinson, then lost a unanimous decision to Cobbs on 7 June 2024 in Florida. In the summer of 2026 Broner was publicly training again in a livestreamed comeback camp while stating his intention to fight again, though no bout had been confirmed. Adjudicated record: in 2016 a Cincinnati judge sentenced Broner to 30 days in jail for contempt of court after he arrived late for a scheduled trial, and in 2017 he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a separate Kentucky case.
