Combined Graph record U-07856 · provenance: build store (JSON graph), record CTL-E-6984.

Mark Jerrold Henry (born June 12, 1971, in Silsbee, Texas) holds a legitimate strength résumé that his wrestling billing only advertises. In sanctioned weightlifting he represented the United States at the 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games — captaining the 1996 team — won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the 1995 Pan American Games, and was a three-time U.S. national weightlifting champion (1993, 1994, 1996); he also won the inaugural Arnold Strongman Classic in 2002 and set WDFPF powerlifting world records in the squat, deadlift, and total. “The World's Strongest Man” is his WWE billing; the lifting record above is the verified substance beneath it, and the two are not the same claim. In the ring from 1996, Henry's title history includes the ECW Championship in 2008 and the World Heavyweight Championship in 2011, and he entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

The record

Notes

Firsts disposition: No wrestling first asserted. 'The World's Strongest Man' is carried as BILLING only; the asserted facts are the sanctioned lifting results (Olympics, Pan Am Games, national titles, Arnold Strongman Classic, WDFPF records). Photo: CLEARED — 'Mark Henry (44524091810).jpg' (Super Festivals, Louisville Supercon 2018), CC BY 2.0 per Commons API extmetadata. Curator's Judgment (DRAFT): The rare case where the carnival billing undersells a verifiable record: two Olympic teams and a Pan American medal set stand on sanctioned-sport sources, kept strictly separate from the ring nickname. Staged 2026-11-03 in packet W (professional wrestling), temp id — merge assigns the next sequential CTL-E id. No CTL-SPE roster id exists for professional wrestling — the AAES roster's wrestling shelf holds only Olympic wrestling and Bobo Brazil (CTL-E-6902). See the packet memo's roster-addition proposal.
