Combined Graph record U-07947 · provenance: build store (JSON graph), record CTL-E-7075.

Sue Bird (born October 16, 1980) is a retired American point guard who played her entire WNBA career with the Seattle Storm and retired in 2022 holding the league's career records for assists, games, minutes, and wins. Drafted first overall in 2002 out of Connecticut, she quarterbacked Seattle to championships in 2004, 2010, 2018, and 2020 — making her the only player to win WNBA titles in three different decades. Across 19 seasons played she appeared in 580 games, dealt 3,234 assists, and was selected to a record 13 All-Star teams; with the United States she won five Olympic gold medals. She announced in June 2022 that the season would be her last, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025. Her assists record still stands; Courtney Vandersloot, the only other player past 3,000, remains second.

Notes

NOT in the AAES roster v2 — roster-addition proposal for the AAES intake; no SPE id invented. Seattle Storm is not homed in the graph, so no played_for edge. Birth date (October 16, 1980, Syosset, New York) per her standard biographical record (Britannica). Curator's Judgment (DRAFT): Bird's record is one of durability as dominance — four titles in three decades with one franchise — and her assists mark is the standing summit that this packet's Vandersloot record measures itself against.
