Chicago Music Awards (CMA), in existence since 1982, celebrates and honours Chicagoland's best across all music categories (Pop, R&B, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Country Western, Latin, Classical, Hip Hop/Rap, Gospel, Indie, Comedy, EDM, Steppin, Polish, Poetry); it was founded and is chaired by Ephraim M. Martin and produced by his nonprofit Martin's International Foundation (41st annual edition held 30 Sept 2023 at the Harold Washington Cultural Center) — from the CMA's own sponsorship/introduction document (tier 2), fetched in full. The CMA began as the Chicago Reggae Music Awards in 1982 and evolved into the all-genre Chicago Music Awards, per Martin's International's own history.
