Evidence note (master store)

The Chicago Defender's Women of Excellence Awards is the Defender's annual event (stored note stands) celebrating local African American women who inspire through vision, leadership, exceptional achievements and community service — per the Illinois Senate Democrats' official site (tier 1/3), fetched in full, reporting the Defender's annual Women of Excellence Event. Roughly 50 women are honoured each year (49-51 honorees in the 2025 and 2026 editions, per honoree institutions' announcements returned in search); the 2014 edition was billed the 8th annual, placing the first in 2007.
