Evidence note (master store)

Kenwood took its name from the residence of Dr. Kennicott, who called his home 'Kenwood' after the ancestral seat of his family near Edinburgh, Scotland; Dr. Kennicott built his house in 1856, and the railroad adopted the name Kenwood for the station in 1859 (Chicago Tribune, Mar. 4, 1900, Kenwood section).
