Evidence note (master store)

The Montgomery Ward Tower Building exists (now condominiums) as a high-rise at 6 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, built as Montgomery Ward & Co.'s headquarters tower (dated 1899; the quoted WTTW history says the tower was built in 1898). The source states it stood 394 feet and 22 stories, was the tallest building in the city at the time, and retained that title until the Wrigley Building was completed in 1922. The pyramid portion of the tower, along with its sculpture, was removed in 1947, shortening the building to 282 feet (fetched in full 2026-10-17)
