Rights & Fair Use

CultureTechLens is Chicago’s Black cultural intelligence platform, curating the intersection of history, athletics, music, and technology through a lens of cultural preservation and analysis. CultureTechLens NFP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 39-3143901).

Our use of others’ work

Our work is criticism, review, research, and education. Where copyrighted material appears on this site — album artwork, photographs, quotations, brief excerpts — it is used in small portions, with attribution, for commentary, criticism, and teaching, consistent with fair use under Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 107). No excerpt is used commercially, and none substitutes for the original work. All rights in quoted and depicted material remain with their respective owners.

Corrections and removal

Rights holders and subjects of coverage may request credit corrections, updates, or removal at any time via the contact form or [email protected]. Every request is reviewed. CultureTechLens maintains a public corrections practice and does not knowingly publish material it lacks the right to use.

Trust & evidence

Evidence before authority. CultureTechLens publishes its methods, its limits, and its corrections alongside its findings. Claims carry grades — VERIFIED, SUPPORTED, PROVISIONAL, DISPUTED, UNRESOLVED — and unknowns are never reported as zero.

Every claim graded. Every source named. Every correction public — see the corrections log.
