Boosie Badazz, born 14 November 1982 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is an American rapper formerly billed as Lil Boosie. He joined the Baton Rouge collective Concentration Camp in the late 1990s, debuted solo with Youngest of da Camp (2000), and signed to Pimp C's Trill Entertainment for For My Thugz (2002). His mainstream breakthrough Bad Azz (2006) included "Zoom." Acquitted of first-degree murder in 2012, he was released from prison on 5 March 2014 after serving about five years on drug charges, and adopted the Boosie Badazz name. Touch Down 2 Cause Hell (2015) peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The spelling of his legal name is contested across sources — "Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr." in Wikipedia's infobox, "Torence" in its lead — and is carried here as a documented variant, not a settled fact.

Notes
Staged 2026-10-16 under CTL-GOV-006 (Census Intake Wave 1 — 747 Program, Wave 7; first packet at the founder's 40-record size). Gate A (2026-10-16): no Boosie Badazz entity in the live graph at 3,443 entities (exact / normalized / alias + token containment); ID CTL-E-5760 free. Supply: 747 Supply Ledger, Tier 3 — Famous Birthdays ABSENT census, readiness rank 355 (Rappers list). The census supplied the NAME ONLY; no fact in this record is sourced to it (CTL-GOV-004). SCOPE GATE: PASS — Black American recording figure. Vital status: LIVING — touring in 2026 on the Southern Truth Tour with Webbie. CONFLICTS CARRIED: Legal-name spelling: "Torrence" (infobox and older bios) vs "Torence" (current lead) — both printed; a primary record is required to settle it. One older AllMusic-derived biography gives birth year 1983 against the majority 1982; 1982 governs. STATISTICS (sourced, dated): Touch Down 2 Cause Hell peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (2015) — Billboard chart history via the album's reference record, accessed 2026-10-16. His studio-album count is dated by source (13 solo studio albums in the current count; older sources say seven) and is carried as dated, not timeless. MEDIA: photo HELD (candidate: Wikimedia Commons and label/press photography of this subject exists; no file page was read at file-page level in this pass, so no image is cleared — CTL-PHOTO-001; a CTL-created graphic is the standing alternative); chart FILLED (charts/chart-ctl-e-5760-boosie-badazz.svg); video HELD (the Shorts Link Map catalog was checked by name and variants — no matching-entity CTL Short exists for this subject; the three catalog string-hits for "Ne-Yo" resolve to Nina Simone and John Coltrane rows, not Ne-Yo billings); audio HELD (no CTL-owned or rights-cleared matching-entity audio; the subject's recordings are third-party copyrighted material). MEDIA LAYER (staged 2026-10-16; full per-asset PHOTO-001 records + embed specs in the packet's staged JSON, Drive packet folder): map = N/A (Person records carry no map slot under the media-layer rule; maps attach to places and institutions.) | visual_assets = HELD: | chart = FILLED (CTL-created SVG (black / deep red / gold) built only from this record's sourced facts) | video = HELD (No matching-entity CTL Short in the Shorts Link Map catalog (checked by name and variants), and no official/em) | audio = HELD (No CTL-owned or rights-cleared matching-entity audio at staging; the subject's own recordings are third-party )
