Kevin Darnell Hart (born July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American comedian and actor, raised in Philadelphia by his mother Nancy, who worked as a systems analyst at the University of Pennsylvania. After amateur comedy competitions around New England and a recurring role on the television series Undeclared, he built his reputation through stand-up releases beginning with I'm a Grown Little Man in 2008 and film roles including Think Like a Man (2012), Ride Along (2014), and Central Intelligence (2016). His What Now? tour made him, by Forbes's accounting for June 2015 to June 2016, the highest-paid comedian in the world, ending Jerry Seinfeld's decade at the top of Forbes's list. Time magazine named him to the Time 100, its list of the 100 most influential people in the world, in 2015, and in 2017 he launched the Laugh Out Loud Network in partnership with Lionsgate. Hart remains an active touring comedian and film star in 2026, one of the most commercially successful stand-up performers of his era.
