Marcus Rashford, born on 31 October 1997 in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England, is an English forward for Manchester United and the England national team. A United academy product from the age of seven, he scored twice on his first-team debut against Midtjylland in February 2016 and twice more on his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later, then scored on his England debut that May, becoming the youngest English player to score in his first senior international match. With United he has won the Europa League, FA Cups and EFL Cups. Off the pitch, his 2020 campaign on child food poverty — drawing on his own childhood experience of food insecurity — persuaded the UK government to extend free school meal vouchers over the summer holidays, and he was appointed MBE in the 2020 Birthday Honours. After a loan at Aston Villa in 2025, he spent 2025–26 on loan at Barcelona, winning La Liga, and returned to Manchester United in summer 2026 after Barcelona declined its purchase option.
