Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade, born 8 May 1999 in Guarulhos, São Paulo, is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and the most decorated Brazilian Olympian in any discipline. Raised by her mother Rosa, a house cleaner, in a family of eight children, she walked nearly two hours to training on days the family could not afford the bus. Three anterior cruciate ligament surgeries between 2015 and 2019 nearly ended her career. At the Tokyo Olympics she won gold on vault and silver in the all-around, becoming the first Brazilian female gymnast to win an Olympic medal. She was world all-around champion in 2022 and world vault champion in 2021 and 2023, and she won the 2025 Laureus Comeback of the Year award. At Paris 2024 she won floor gold ahead of Simone Biles, all-around and vault silver, and team bronze — Brazil's first Olympic team medal — closing the Games on the first all-Black podium in Olympic gymnastics history. Her six Olympic medals are a Brazilian record. After a gap year in 2025 she returned in 2026, winning Pan American vault gold and leading Brazil at the World Championships in Rotterdam, having retired from floor exercise for good.
