Hosea Sanders is an Arkadelphia, Arkansas native and a Chicago television anchor, entertainment reporter, and program host who has worked at ABC 7 Chicago since 1994. A 1978 graduate of Henderson State University, he learned journalism there as co-editor of The Oracle campus newspaper, helped create a news department at campus radio station KSWH-FM from the ground up, and worked at local station KVRC and for Arkadelphia newspapers while still a student. His first television job, at KARK-TV in Little Rock, became the foundation he still calls his touchstone for quality broadcasting. At ABC 7 — WLS-TV, the station he describes as his home for more than thirty years — his work has included anchoring, entertainment reporting, and hosting station programming for Chicago audiences. Henderson State's August 2025 alumni profile, published as an interview with Sanders himself, calls him a twenty-one-time Emmy Award winner, records his Silver Circle Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his contributions to broadcasting in Chicago, and notes his appointment to Henderson's Board of Visitors and his continuing campus visits. His advice to young journalists is to work harder than anyone around them — and, as he puts it, not to be like him, but to be better.
