Notes
Sports Encyclopedia roster CTL-SPE-0187. Firsts disposition: NO first asserted. Nebraska's athletics site reports Burroughs was the first Olympian to claim the $250,000 Living the Dream Medal Fund prize, but that claim rests on a single source in this packet, so it is recorded here and kept out of the description under the two-source rule. Curator's Judgment (DRAFT): Burroughs turned a single scholarship offer into the defining American freestyle career of his generation, then stayed at the top long enough to win world titles a decade apart. His advocacy kept wrestling in the Olympics in 2013, a legacy beyond his own medals.
