The Colored Conventions Project (CCP) is a digital-humanities research hub recovering the history of nineteenth-century Black convention organizing. It emerged from a graduate class P. Gabrielle Foreman taught in 2012 at the University of Delaware, where Foreman was its founding faculty director, and it was launched and cultivated at Delaware from 2012 to 2020. In 2020 it became a flagship project of the Center for Black Digital Research, #DigBlk, at Penn State University, where it remains based. CCP locates, transcribes and archives the documentary record of the Colored Conventions movement — state and national meetings held from 1830 into the 1890s at which free-born and formerly enslaved Black people strategized for educational, labor and legal justice — and curates digital exhibits from that record.

Notes
CORRECTION TO THE ASSIGNMENT BRIEF: the brief framed CCP at the University of Delaware; Delaware was the founding home (2012–2020). The current home is Penn State's Center for Black Digital Research (#DigBlk), per the project's own site and the host university. GRADE BASIS: Verified — the project's own site plus the host university plus an independent scholarly review, all consistent including on the move. BLOCKED EDGES: homes at the University of Delaware and Penn State / #DigBlk — neither institution is homed in the graph; founded/directed-by → P. Gabrielle Foreman — not a live record. PHOTO: HELD with a named candidate and an illustration-vs-photograph ruling owed (see media). CURATOR'S JUDGMENT (DRAFT): CCP is the closest living relative of CTL's own recovery method — conventions as data, organizing as archive. It belongs in the graph as kin, cited exactly. (Draft judgment, not fact.)
