Evidence note (master store)

The current Holy Name Cathedral exists as a cathedral (church) building in Chicago at 735 N. State Street, at the corner of Superior and State streets; it is the central place of worship of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. It was built in 1874 and dedicated in 1875, and its spire rose 210 feet. It is the second building to carry the name: the first Holy Name Cathedral was consumed by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The stored tallest-building period (1854-1869) and stored height (254 ft) do NOT describe this building and are NOT covered by this source (fetched in full 2026-10-17)
