As commercial consolidation squeezed Black formats off local FM, SiriusXM built a national Black dial upstairs: hip-hop, R&B, gospel, and talk grouped under its Urban & Caribbean lineup. Satellite became the overflow room for formats the market stopped making room for on the ground.
