Chicago's postwar Black partner dance, danced from the 1940s through the 1960s on the South and West Sides; the direct ancestor of Chicago Steppin'. The community keeps the lineage as one taxonomy: Boppers, Steppers, and Walkers — 'One Dance, One Love.'
