Alice Dunnigan

Dunnigan became head of the Associated Negro Press Washington Bureau on January 1, 1947, serving for 14 years and supplying stories to more than 100 African American newspapers. Dunnigan was the first African American woman to receive White House press credentials (1948) and the first Black female member of the Senate and House press galleries (1947).
