VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Shaboozey is the stage name of Collins Obinna Chibueze (born May 9, 1995, in Woodbridge, Virginia), the Nigerian American singer whose fusion of country, hip-hop, and Americana produced the defining song of 2024. On April 12, 2024, he released 'A Bar Song (Tipsy),' built on an interpolation of J-Kwon's 2004 'Tipsy'; the single climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for nineteen weeks, tying the record set by Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' for the longest-running No. 1 in the chart's history. The same season, Beyoncé (CTL-E-1771) featured him twice on Cowboy Carter — on 'SPAGHETTII,' alongside Linda Martell, and on 'SWEET HONEY BUCKIIN'' — and his third album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going, followed on May 31, 2024. At the 2025 Grammy Awards he earned five nominations without a win; at the 2026 awards he won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for 'Amen,' with Jelly Roll — the Academy's artist page totals one win against eight nominations. A Black artist tying country's biggest chart record, on a song descended from a St. Louis rap hit, is the genre's whole history in a single single.

Notes

Statistics: 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)': released April 12, 2024; 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying 'Old Town Road' (ABC Audio; Billboard). Grammys: 1 win / 8 nominations (GRAMMY.com artist page, accessed 2026-10-15). Staged edge: collaborated_with Beyoncé (CTL-E-1771) on the Cowboy Carter features. · Curator's Judgment: DRAFT — for founder review: The paste listed Shaboozey first among its names, and the audit shows why he belongs beside senators: a nineteen-week No. 1 is a census, not a trend — the country audience, counted weekly, ratified a Black artist's record-tying run. The graph files the count, and the count is the claim. · Photo slot: CLEARED CANDIDATE — Wikimedia Commons File:Shaboozey on the CwE 01.jpg, CC BY 3.0 (the CwE), license verified from Commons API metadata on 2026-10-15; not downloaded — visual pass follows merge per standing pattern.
