On February 1, 2021, The Volume launched with iHeartMedia as partner and his own Colin Cowherd Podcast as its flagship; the Sports Business Journal's company profile lists Cowherd as the network's founder. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2025.

Notes

STAGED 2026-10-16 (747 Program, Named Remainders & Further Gaps, Batch D) — not merged; awaits founder merge go. Gate A: no match in the live graph (3,443 entities) under exact or name screening, 2026-10-16. Subtype 'other' per the brief (sports broadcaster). Net-worth and salary figures appearing in celebrity-biography sources were EXCLUDED entirely, per the batch standard. Vital status: LIVING — re-signed with FOX Sports in 2025 and inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame on October 30, 2025 (Awful Announcing). DETAILS CARRIED WITHOUT FALSE PRECISION: (1) ESPN start — the Radio Hall of Fame dates The Herd's ESPN Radio debut to 2003; Awful Announcing dates his move to the network's late-morning slot to 2004; the description carries 'early 2000s' and the MD shows both. (2) Founding language — SBJ lists Cowherd as The Volume's founder and the graph's Volume record says 'founded by Colin Cowherd,' while the Radio Hall of Fame says he 'co-founded' the network (with iHeartMedia as launch partner); the founded_by edge follows the SBJ/graph formulation and this note preserves the other. (3) Birthplace — secondary biographies give Bay Center, Washington, while career accounts describe him as a Grayland native/raised in Grayland; the description carries the upbringing, not a birthplace claim. Photo HELD — see media. MEDIA LAYER (staged 2026-10-16; full per-asset PHOTO-001 records + embed specs in the packet's staged JSON, Drive packet folder): map = N/A (Person records carry no map slot under the media-layer rule; maps attach to places and institutions.) | visual_assets = HELD: No file-page-level PHOTO-001 license verification completed at staging; slot held rather than filled on second | chart = FILLED (CTL-created timeline built only from this record's sourced facts; CTL-branded palette (black / deep red / gold) | video = HELD (No CTL Short bills Colin Cowherd.
