Motshegetsi Mabuse, known as Motsi Mabuse, born 11 April 1981 in Mankwe, South Africa, is a South African dancer based in Germany. Her family moved to Pretoria when she was five, and she and her younger sister Oti both took up dancing there. Expected to become a lawyer, she studied at the University of Pretoria before dance took over; she was runner-up in the South African national championships in 1998 and met her first dance partner, Timo Kulczak, at the British Open Championships in Blackpool in 1999. Competing internationally from Germany, she became a German Latin champion and, in 2013, won the German Latin dance contest with Ukrainian dancer Evgenij Voznyuk, whom she later married. She appeared on Germany's Let's Dance first as a professional dancer and has been a judge on that show since 2011. In 2019 she joined the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing as a judge, replacing Darcey Bussell, and she remains on its judging panel for the 2026 series while running a dance school in Germany.
