Kizzmekia S. Corbett (born 1986) is a viral immunologist who, as the scientific lead of the coronavirus team at the National Institutes of Health's Vaccine Research Center, co-designed with Barney Graham the prefusion-stabilized spike protein at the heart of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. Her earlier work on dengue and MERS set the platform that let the vaccine be designed within days of the SARS-CoV-2 sequence release in January 2020. She later joined the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health faculty.
