Combined Graph record U-07722 · provenance: build store (JSON graph), record CTL-E-6850.

Leatitia 'Baby Girl' Robinson (born September 30, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois) is a middleweight boxer who carried Chicago women's boxing from the Golden Gloves to world titles in an era when the major sanctioning bodies barely recognized the women's sport. BoxRec, named here as a source, records that Robinson was born in Chicago, began boxing at fourteen to survive in the Cabrini-Green public housing projects, won the Chicago Golden Gloves in 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998, and finished her amateur career 37–1. As a professional, Wikipedia's record summary — drawn from her BoxRec record — credits her with seventeen fights, sixteen wins, and one loss, holding the IWBF middleweight title from 2002 to 2004 and the WIBA middleweight title from 2004 to 2006, including a ten-round unanimous decision over the unbeaten Nikki Eplion on February 28, 2004, to win the WIBA crown. Women of Boxing, reporting her 2020 return after a decade away, bills her as Chicago's first female world champion; that billing is carried here as that source's claim, not as a verified first. The surviving record is thinner than her career deserves, and this entry is graded Provisional accordingly.

Notes

Sports Encyclopedia roster CTL-SPE-0516. Firsts disposition: 'Chicago's first female world champion' NOT ASSERTED — the claim rests on a single promotional source (Women of Boxing, 2020) and is carried in the description only as that source's billing. Grade held at Provisional: the record's professional-win figures conflict across sources (Women of Boxing states 19–1 and 15–1 in different passages; BoxRec-derived summaries give 17 fights, 16–1) and no league, Hall, or reference authority beyond BoxRec anchors the career. Curator's Judgment (DRAFT): Robinson's Golden Gloves run and two middleweight titles were achieved when women's boxing had almost no institutional support; the thinness of her surviving record is itself evidence of that era, and this entry preserves what can be sourced rather than inflating it.
