VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

A Tribe Called Quest is the hip-hop group formed in Queens, New York, in 1985 by Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, with Jarobi White a founding fourth member. Their albums People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm (1990), The Low End Theory (1991) and Midnight Marauders (1993) fused jazz and hip-hop, built on the interplay between Q-Tip and Phife Dawg and on bass-led production credited with bridging the two musics. Phife Dawg, born Malik Taylor, died on March 22, 2016, at 45, of complications from diabetes, months before the group’s final album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service, was released with his verses in November 2016. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2024.
