VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. in Pontiac, Michigan, in 1997, is an American rapper, singer and online creator whose career began on video platforms before it reached record charts. He started posting videos in 2014 while a student, left Central Michigan University to pursue creating full time, and built channels under names including PontiacMadeDDG that mixed vlogs, pranks and music. He signed with Epic Records in 2018 and in 2020 co-founded his own label, Zooted Music. His single Moonwalking in Calabasas, in a remix featuring Blueface, entered the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum in the United States. With producer OG Parker he released the mixtape Die 4 Respect in 2021, followed by the studio albums It's Not Me It's You in 2022 and Maybe It's Me... in 2023. His 2025 album Blame the Chat was made through livestreamed sessions in which viewers watched and weighed in on the process, a method that joins his two careers — recording artist and streamer — in a single public workflow.
