Eve (born Eve Jihan Jeffers on November 10, 1978, in Philadelphia; now Eve Jihan Cooper) is the rapper who became the Ruff Ryders' First Lady and then a three-season sitcom lead. After an early Aftermath deal collapsed, she rebuilt inside the Ruff Ryders camp and released Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady (1999), which entered the Billboard 200 at number one — making her the third female rapper to top the chart — and was certified double platinum. The same year she featured on The Roots' Grammy-winning "You Got Me" and Missy Elliott's "Hot Boyz." Scorpion (2001) carried "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" with Gwen Stefani, winner of the inaugural Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Eve-Olution (2002) carried "Gangsta Lovin'" with Alicia Keys. On television she played Terri Jones across the Barbershop films and starred as Shelley Williams on UPN's Eve (2003–2006). Her memoir Who's That Girl? appeared in 2024. CultureTechLens profiled Eve in Short #164.
