Uché Blackstock is an emergency physician who in 2019 founded Advancing Health Equity, a consultancy that works with health care organizations to dismantle racism in medicine. Formerly on the faculty of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, she became a prominent voice on the racial toll of COVID-19. Her book Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine (2024) joins memoir to an account of how medicine's institutions produce unequal care.
