PinkHouse
VERIFIED evidence grade of this record
Chicago radio personality and mix-show host whose voice carried house music and hip-hop across the South Side from WKKC 89.3 FM, the Kennedy-King College station in Englewood. Born Isadore Pink, he joined WKKC as host of Friday Night Audio — the station's Friday mix show, described by its own DJs as Chicago's longest-running radio mixshow, where a young crew including DJ Lil' John, Walter 'Get Down' Brown, and Bobby Q Bobby played the best that house music had to offer — and dubbed himself Pink House. A surviving summer 1987 aircheck catches him on the microphone beside Brown, throwing out his signature call: 'You Know It.' Block Club Chicago's history of the station names 'the late DJ Pink House,' with Mike Dunn and Sam Sylk, among the names that defined the 1980s and 1990s in local radio, on a station that brought house music to the masses, introduced Chicago house to generations of househeads, and gave local hip-hop artists life-changing airtime. Fake Shore Drive calls PinkHouse 'one of, if not, the most important figures in Chi rap history'; Chicago's DJ Summit named its Hip Hop Humanitarian Award for Isadore Pink; and Chris Casino's 2011 documentary Do You Remember preserves his story on film.

Notes
Statistics (counted, sourced, dated): On-air at WKKC by summer 1987 — a surviving aircheck of Thaddeus 'Slide Back' Brown's summer 1987 WKKC mix carries Pink House on the mic break, closing with his signature 'You Know It' (Mixcloud / Chicago House Radio, accessed 2026-10-15) · The documentary Do You Remember (dir. Chris Casino) was presented by Fake Shore Drive in four parts, November 2011 · Block Club Chicago's history of WKKC, 'How Kennedy-King College's WKKC Became A Black Radio Powerhouse,' was carried by the City Colleges of Chicago Newsroom on February 19, 2026 · Friday Night Audio is described by original mixshow DJ Lil' John as 'currently Chicago's longest running radio mixshow' (participant bio, undated, accessed 2026-10-15 — carried as attributed scene testimony, not a measured record). · STATISTICS DELIBERATELY EXCLUDED: his tenure's exact start and end years and any audience or ratings figures — no located source states them, and under GOV-004 they are not asserted. · VITAL STATUS: DECEASED — 'the late DJ Pink House' (Block Club Chicago via CCC Newsroom, Feb 2026); 'the late Pink House' (DJ Lil' John bio; Mixcloud; Podomatic). DEATH DATE: UNRESOLVED — no obituary for this Isadore Pink was located in the sources searched (accessed 2026-10-15); the Dignity Memorial obituary for 'Isadore Pinck' of North Lauderdale, Florida (1917–2012) is a different person and was NOT used. Tribute care applies under the founder's doctrine: people who have passed get their flowers. · IDENTITY / DISAMBIGUATION: 'PinkHouse,' 'Pink House,' and 'DJ Pink House' are one man, Isadore Pink (Fake Shore Drive, 2011; DJ Lil' John bio). He is not the singer P!nk, and no source connects him to any other broadcaster of a similar name. · Curator's Judgment: DRAFT — for founder review (TRIBUTE): Before Chicago house had a hall of fame, it had a Friday night, and PinkHouse was its voice. The mixshow DJs spun; he hosted, blessed, and hollered 'You Know It' over the breaks, and a generation of South Side listeners learned from a college station's transmitter what their city sounded like while it was inventing the future. The records he introduced are catalogued everywhere; the man who introduced them was catalogued almost nowhere. CTL records him in tribute, in the lineage of Chicago's Black radio voices — the flowers are overdue, and they are his. · Photo slot: HELD — a Wikimedia Commons API search (2026-10-15) returned no cleared image of PinkHouse / Isadore Pink; Block Club Chicago's story photography (Colin Boyle / Block Club Chicago) is copyrighted news photography and was NOT pulled, per PHOTO-001. Slot stays HELD until a cleared image is obtained (estate or family release, CTL original photograph, or a commons upload). · Edges: one staged — affiliated_with WKKC (CTL-E-1269), see staged-edges.json. Mike Dunn and Sam Sylk, named beside him in the Block Club sentence, hold no graph records (Gate A sweep, 2026-10-15) and are logged as future entity candidates; no edges are asserted to records that do not exist.
