Uncle Waffles, born Lungelihle Zwane on 30 March 2000 in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and based in South Africa, is a DJ and producer whom Billboard calls the "Princess of Amapiano." A former presenter on Eswatini TV's Studio1, where she first encountered DJ decks, she learned to DJ during the 2020 lockdowns. Her breakthrough came in October 2021, when a clip of her dancing to Young Stunna's "Adiwele" at Zone 6, Soweto, went viral. Her debut single "Tanzania" (2022) reached No. 1 in South Africa and is certified 7× platinum there; the EPs Red Dragon (2022), Asylum and Solace (2023) followed, Asylum certified gold by RiSA within a week. A BBC Radio 1 residency was announced in September 2022, and in April 2023 she became the first amapiano artist to perform at Coachella.
