GAMES — CTL Games Division
CultureTechLens is Chicago’s Black cultural intelligence platform — research, stories, and a monthly Index on Black history, music, sports, and film. Every claim graded, every source named, every photograph cited. The Games Division is its desk for the games Black Chicago plays — and what those games carry.
GAMES holds the cultural games record: Bid Whist and Spades first — their rules and unwritten rules, their histories at the family table, the reunion, and the repass — and the social worlds around the card table, where partnership, memory, and talk are the real stakes. From that record the division also builds: the board-game work that turns the archive into something a family can play. It serves players who want the history of their game kept as carefully as any other tradition here — because it is one.

Status: in formation
This page will not pretend otherwise: GAMES is the first CultureTechLens desk named before its series exists. There is no published games series yet, no census, and no count to claim — the desk’s post stream is in preparation, and this page exists so the division has its address, its scope, and its standard on the record from day one. When the first pieces publish, they will be linked below, and this status line will change.

Trust & evidence
Evidence before authority. CultureTechLens publishes its methods, its limits, and its corrections alongside its findings. Claims carry grades — VERIFIED, SUPPORTED, PROVISIONAL, DISPUTED, UNRESOLVED — and unknowns are never reported as zero.
