Trippie Redd
VERIFIED evidence grade of this record
Michael Lamar White, known as Trippie Redd, is a rapper and singer from Canton, Ohio, whose genre-blurring music helped define the emo-rap and rage sounds of the streaming era. Raised in Canton and inspired to rap in part by an older brother who died when White was ten, he began posting tracks online as a teenager and broke out with his 2017 mixtape A Love Letter to You and its single "Love Scars." His debut album, Life's a Trip (2018), reached the Billboard 200 top five, and A Love Letter to You 4 (2019) became his first number-one album. Drawing equally on Lil Wayne and T-Pain and on punk and metal acts such as Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, he has sustained a prolific release pace through albums including Pegasus, Trip at Knight and Mansion Musik, and collaborations with XXXTentacion, Travis Scott and Playboi Carti.
