VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Silk Sonic is the American R&B superduo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, formed after the two toured together on Mars's 24K Magic World Tour in 2017 and began recording during late-night jam sessions. Announced in early 2021 with the single "Leave the Door Open," the duo built its single album, An Evening with Silk Sonic (2021), as a loving reconstruction of 1970s soul and funk, introduced on record by guest host Bootsy Collins. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and produced the singles "Skate," "Smokin out the Window" and "Love's Train." At the 2022 GRAMMY Awards, "Leave the Door Open" won all four of its nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The duo supported the album with a Las Vegas residency at Park MGM and has continued to perform together, including on Mars's 2026 Romantic Tour.

For CTL the duo documents what happens when Black musical heritage is treated as a living craft rather than a sample source. · Photo slot: CLEARED — Wikimedia Commons File:Silk Sonic, The Romantic Tour (55300685559).jpg, Glenn Samonte - Own Work, CC BY 4.0, verified via Commons API 2026-10-15; direct URL https://thumb.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f2/Silk_Sonic%2C_The_Romantic_Tour_%2855300685559%29.jpg/1920px-Silk_Sonic%2C_The_Romantic_Tour_%2855300685559%29.jpg?utm_source=commons.wikimedia.org&utm_campaign=imageinfo&utm_content=thumbnail; master in packet photos/ as silk-sonic.jpg. · Remediation 2026-10-15: Recording Academy artist page retrieved and added as primary source; record upgraded to Verified.
