VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Ice Spice, born Isis Naija Gaston in the Bronx, New York, on January 1, 2000, is an American rapper whose rise from college student to national chart presence happened with unusual speed. She attended SUNY Purchase, where she met producer RiotUSA, and began releasing music in 2021. Her 2022 single Munch (Feelin' U) spread widely online and established her relaxed delivery over Bronx drill production. The EP Like..? followed in January 2023, and during that year she placed a remarkable run of collaborations in the Billboard Hot 100 top ten, including Boy's a Liar Pt. 2 with PinkPantheress, a remix of Taylor Swift's Karma, and Barbie World with Nicki Minaj and Aqua for the Barbie film. Her debut studio album Y2K! arrived in July 2024. The Recording Academy gave her four nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, confirming how quickly a viral local sound had become a mainstream pop-rap career.
