PROVISIONAL evidence grade of this record

In Living Color, created, written, and headlined by Keenen Ivory Wayans and produced by Ivory Way Productions with 20th Television, aired on Fox from April 15, 1990, to May 19, 1994 — five seasons of sketch comedy built, pointedly, as the alternative: where the era's established sketch shows fielded mostly white casts, Wayans built a majority-Black company and let it aim at everything, including Black America's own pieties. It won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series in 1990, its first year. Its 1992 live Super Bowl counter-programming special drew ratings large enough to change how the NFL and networks treat halftime itself. Its alumni roll is a generation: Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier, Tommy Davidson, the Wayans family, and the Fly Girl dancers choreographed by Rosie Perez, among them Jennifer Lopez. The production archive is held by the National Comedy Center — an institution's judgment this graph echoes: In Living Color is the sketch shelf's cornerstone, the show that made Fox's Sunday night a Black cultural broadcast.

Notes

Statistics: Fox, 1990–1994; 5 seasons (Wikipedia). Staged edge: authored_by Keenen Ivory Wayans (CTL-E-1768), the series' creator. Filed as Work/other: schema v0.2.6 carries no television subtype, and none was invented inside this merge (schema changes are a separate, reviewed step). · Curator's Judgment: DRAFT — for founder review: Homey, Fire Marshal Bill, Men on Film — the characters are folk memory now, but the record's claim is industrial: a Black creator owned the means of sketch production on a network, in prime time, and hired the next decade's stars out of it. · Photo slot: HELD — poster/key art and production stills for this title are copyrighted studio material and were NOT pulled (per CTL-PHOTO-001 and the wave brief: never force non-free key art); no cleared Commons image was verified for this title in this run. Slot honestly HELD pending a cleared visual.
