VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Metro Boomin, born Leland Tyler Wayne in St. Louis on September 16, 1993, started making beats as a young teenager, persuaded his mother to drive him to Atlanta sessions while still in high school, and briefly attended Morehouse College before music took over entirely. Working through Atlanta's rap economy — Future, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, and 21 Savage among his early collaborators — he developed a dark, cinematic trap sound announced by some of the era's most imitated producer tags. His run of productions in the mid-2010s, including iLoveMakonnen's 'Tuesday,' Drake and Future's 'Jumpman,' Migos' chart-topping 'Bad and Boujee,' and Future's 'Mask Off,' made him the defining producer of trap's mainstream conquest, and he co-produced the Weeknd's Billboard Hot 100 number one 'Heartless' in 2019. As a lead artist he proved a producer could headline: Not All Heroes Wear Capes in 2018 and Heroes & Villains in 2022 both debuted atop the Billboard 200, alongside chart-topping collaborations including Savage Mode II with 21 Savage in 2020 and two 2024 albums with Future, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You. He also curated the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023, extending his widescreen instincts from records to film.
