VERIFIED evidence grade of this record

Atlanta singer and songwriter whose plainspoken, guitar-led R&B rewrote the streaming record books within a year of her debut. Summer Marjani Walker was born on April 11, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, taught herself guitar from online tutorials while working as a cleaner and dancer, and was discovered after the studio manager of the Atlanta label Love Renaissance found her performance videos online. Signed to LVRN and Interscope, she released the mixtape Last Day of Summer in 2018; its single Girls Need Love, remixed with Drake, became her first Hot 100 entry. Her debut album Over It (2019) reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and set a record for the biggest streaming debut week by a female R&B artist, powered by Playing Games and Come Thru, with Usher. Still Over It (2021) debuted at No. 1 and placed eighteen of its songs on the Hot 100 at once. After the Grammy-nominated EP Clear 2: Soft Life (2023), she closed the trilogy with Finally Over It in 2025.

Notes

Statistics: Born April 11, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia (AllMusic biography, accessed October 15, 2026) · Over It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 134,000 equivalent album units and 154.7 million on-demand audio streams, then a record for a female R&B album (Billboard, reported by The Source, October 2019) · Still Over It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2021 with eighteen songs charting simultaneously on the Hot 100 (AllMusic; biographical summaries) · CORRECTION TO BRIEF: the Drake collaboration documented for this record is the Girls Need Love remix (2019), not Drake's Girls Want Girls, which features Lil Baby and does not involve Walker · Curator's Judgment: DRAFT — Summer Walker made the anti-pop-star into a pop star: minimal production, maximal disclosure, and records that read like voice notes you were not supposed to hear. CTL files her as the streaming era's defining Atlanta R&B diarist, whose Over It trilogy turned private reckoning into chart history. · Photo slot: CLEARED — Wikimedia Commons File:Summer Walker performing Body live at Breezy Bowl XX.png, @DukeFilmzz, CC BY 4.0, verified via Commons API 2026-10-15; direct URL https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/06/Summer_Walker_performing_Body_live_at_Breezy_Bowl_XX.png?utm_source=commons.wikimedia.org&utm_campaign=imageinfo&utm_content=thumbnail_unscaled; master in packet photos/.
